Rockstar Engery Cola

rockstar.jpgI’ve never been too interested in the recent trend of energy drinks. I don’t care for the flavor of most of them, and they don’t give me energy like they are supposed to. I do like Rockstar Energy Drink, however. I also like new Rockstar Energy Cola, which combines and ingredients of Rockstar Energy Drink with all natural cola flavors. The cola flavor is very good, and reminds me of a premium cola more than Coke or Pepsi. The energy drink flavor is there too, but the cola flavor is much stronger. It is also lightly carbonated, which makes it easy to drink. If you want the benefits of an energy drink, but don’t like the flavor, then Rockstar Energy Cola may be the drink for you.

Jack In The Box Natural Cut Fries

naturalcut.jpgI’ve been seeing the Jack In The Box commercials for their new Natural Cut Fries. I tried them for the first time today and am sorry to say that they look better on TV than they taste in real life. The fries are cut thicker than normal, and keep the potato skin intact. The skin does give them a nice flavor that is lacking in other fast-food fries. They were, however, a bit on the mushy side. I think they would be much better if they were cooked to be a bit crispier. And, like most fries, they did not have nearly enough salt on them. Overall, I was left disappointed. The Natural Cut Fries offer a welcome alternative to regular fries, but that's about all.

Reduced Sugar Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal

No-Image.jpgI love breakfast cereal. I eat a bowl or two every morning, and I even eat it for dinner frequently. Usually, I eat cereals that don’t have too much sugar. Not that I don’t like highly-sweetened cereals – because I do – but I’ve got to watch the waistline. This new Reduced Sugar Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal is like a dream come true. It has a delicious cinnamon sugar taste, but only 2 grams of sugar per serving. That’s less than many other “healthy” cereals. The trick? It is partially sweetened with Splenda No Calorie Sweetener. I found that the cereal has just the right amount of sweetness for my taste. And, it even stays crunchy in milk like a cereal should. Cereal lovers, rejoice!

Ritz Bits S'mores Sandwiches

ritzbits.jpgRitz Bits S’mores Sandwiches try to capture the flavor of a s’more in a bite-size snack. Surprisingly, they succeed. Each S’more sandwich is made from two small, round graham crackers (I think they are actually more like a cookie than a cracker…), with chocolate and marshmallow in between them. The graham crackers are very good, and you can taste the chocolate in the middle. The marshmallow filling, however, is kind of hard to taste; I wish that there was more marshmallow in them. Overall, these little cracker sandwiches are very tasty, and go great with a tall glass of milk.

Pringles Salt & Pepper Potato Crisps

No-Image.jpgWhen I saw Pringles Salt & Pepper potato chips in my local supermarket, I knew I had to try them. Why? Because I just had to find out how bad they tasted. I am really surprised that they are quite good. They taste like regular Pringles with dash of pepper. The pepper flavor is mild, but definitely gives the chip a distinct flavor. I am not one who goes for weird potato chip flavors (wasabi flavored shrimp chips, hot vinegar chips, dill pickle chips...), but I sure like these. The label reads “Limited Time Flavor,” so get your Salt & Pepper chips while you can.

DiGiorno Thin Crispy Crust Pizza

digiorno.jpgAs far as frozen pizzas go, the new DiGiorno Thin Crispy Crust pizza is one of the best tasting available. Rather than simply make a square version of their regular, round, rising crust variety, DiGiorno developed a thin crust variety that may taste even better than the round variety. The crust is the best part of the pizza. It has a crispy outside and is chewy inside, with a great flavor. In fact, it’s better than many “real” pizzas I’ve eaten. The pizza has just the right amount of sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. On top of all this, the pizza took less than 15 minute to cook in my oven, which means that you don’t have to wait very long to enjoy this terrific pizza after you pop it in the oven. What more could an impatient pizza fanatic ask for?

Note: I ate the Pepperoni variety, not the Supreme variety pictured.

Hank's Fruit Punch

hanks.jpgSometimes I get tired of drinking my soda pop of choice, Pepsi One, and want something a little different. So, I recently had a Hank’s Fruit Punch. I found it very refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day. It has a good fruity flavor and not a lot of carbonation, which makes it very easy to drink. I think I’ll keep a couple in my fridge at all times for when I need something different. By the way, Hank’s Web site gets my award for the most annoying site of the year. Check it out for an example of Flash animation gone awry.

Skippy Snack Bars

skippybars.jpgSkippy Snack Bars (Peanut Butter & Marshmallow variety) are another example of a good idea gone bad. In theory, the chocolate covered granola bar with peanut butter and marshmallows should make a very tasty treat. However, the Skippy Snack Bar is made with a bland granola bar, tiny, hardened marshmallows, and a minimal amount of peanut butter. Even covered in chocolate, the taste of these ingredients is not very appealing. Nice try, Skippy, but all we have here is a snack bar that is edible, but not very enjoyable.
