I like bourbon and I love burgers so I had to give this one a try. This sandwich is made up of a single, double, or "Six Dollar" patty, pepper jack cheese, two strips of bacon, (my favorite vegetable) garlic-pepper onion straws, lettuce, tomato, and, obviously, Bourbon sauce. I had mine without cheese or tomato. The bacon and bourbon sauce combine for a wonderful smoky-sweet taste reminiscent of Memphis-style barbecue. The onion straws were a really tasty and unusual addition. They’re like a flavored version of the french-fried onions used to top green bean casserole. The Kentucky Bourbon Burger definitely lives up to "If it doesn’t get all over the place, it doesn’t belong in your face." I had to excuse myself after finishing to wash my hands and my face. I definitely enjoyed this burger. Try one soon!

Oh man!! I just got finished eating the 6 dollar version of the Kentucky Bourbon Burger. This is the BEST burger I've had in a loooong time. I picked this up in the drive-thru and was not able to sink my teeth into it until about 15 minutes later. The garlic-pepper onion straws were still crispy!! And this is not nearly as messy as the other 6 dollar burgers. All of the flavors (charburns on the patty, pepperjack cheese, bacon, bourbon sauce, and garlic-pepper fries) really compliment one another!!! This is a MUST try!
Posted by: Kevin Pranger at March 24, 2009 12:55 PMIs the cheese really pepper jack or is it just white american with peppers stuck to it? I hate it when fast food places do that.
Posted by: Matt at March 24, 2009 9:24 PMI've been craving a taste of this burger. I'll have to swing by and try it this weekend.

I Think I Will Have Another and Another and Another and..........
This is a VERY VERY tasty burger. Saw it at the local Carl's Jr, gave it a shot, and boy was I NOT disappointed!
Posted by: Kreations at March 31, 2009 1:44 PMI like trying carl's new menu items.. So I just ate this yesterday. Great burger, the sauce is sort of like a sweet smokey BBQ sauce. Nice. I hope they keep it on the menu!
Posted by: Jeromee at April 1, 2009 12:13 PMwhere is "Carl's Jr" located?? Send me info. The burger sounds delicious!!

Posted by: dan mcmahan at April 2, 2009 1:08 PMJust ate the Bourbon burger. It's awful. The sauce smells and tastes like vomit. Stick with their Western Bacon.
Posted by: Chaka at April 8, 2009 1:08 PMWhen I first caught wind that Carl's Jr. had released another six dollar burger, needless to say, I was very excited. After purchasing my burger I sat down to eat and enjoy, but, unfortunately, the latter did not occur. I was thoroughly disappointed with this burger, and I would not recommend it to anyone with working taste buds.
Posted by: Nicholas at April 11, 2009 8:37 PMeh, overall, the burger was like the rest of Carls Jr.'s burgers, good quality meat, good bun, but I thought the sauce was too overpowering. The tanginess of the sauce took away from the onion straws and would have liked some onion rings in there like with the western bacon.
You sure hit the nail with the hammer on the messiness, I didnt have access to a towel or water, so my hands were really sticky at the end.
Posted by: Meno at April 12, 2009 6:51 PMIn some parts of the country, Carl's Jr is called "Hardee's".
Posted by: Erik at April 22, 2009 9:13 PMGreat Burger...normally don't eat at Carl's Jr but one of my kids asked if we could... I'm with the Doc now craving a burger anytime day or night.
Posted by: steve at April 27, 2009 7:06 PMGREAT BURGER I EAT ONE EVERYDAY EVERYBODY AT WORK SAYS I WILL TURN INTO A KENTUCKY BURGER KEEP UP THE GREAT BURGERS
Posted by: RICK at April 28, 2009 11:44 AMIf you like your burger saturated with sugar syrup, you'll like the sauce on this burger. I hated it.
Posted by: Loren at April 30, 2009 3:35 PMLet me preface by saying that I love Carl's Jr. However, I was not impressed by the Bourbon burger. I didn't enjoy the flavor of the sauce. I'll stick with the Western or the Superstar with Cheese - they've been around forever and always hit the spot.
Posted by: Russ at May 4, 2009 1:53 PMThis burger is mindblowing!
Posted by: efren at May 7, 2009 4:05 PMI think I would have liked the burger but there was too much sauce. I think maybe the sauce squirter they used went haywire, it was literally dripping and overpowering. But since I am a reasonable guy, I'm gonna go back and try another.
Posted by: Stephen Ackart at June 3, 2009 9:15 AMThis burger is borderline disgusting. The sauce is horrible and way too sweet. I'm sticking with the Guacamole.
Posted by: Dave at June 18, 2009 9:35 PMGreat burger indeed,, but it depends on the Carl's location the one I had the meat was a little dry, I went to the Huntington Park location.
Posted by: Unloveable at June 28, 2009 12:23 AMOmg the best burger ive ever had its my new favorite burger in the world
Posted by: Dione at July 8, 2009 4:22 AMHad this the morning after partying with some college and SOB! My mind was blown, I couldn't comprehend how deliciously awesome it was. Hope they put it back on the menu in SoCal sometime in the future.
Posted by: Marco at July 9, 2009 4:07 PMI got so dammmm lucky!
I found a CJ that was still selling Bourbon Burgers as of 3 days ago. Off the menu, but they still had them. Now, gone,
BUT! The manager gave me 4 unused bags of the "bourbon glaze"!!!!! And a bag of the crispy onion crispy thingies.
Love that sauce!
Expires 10-15-2009, so I put 3 bags in the freezer and will be enjoying that sauce and using it as a marinade.
Call me LUCKY!
