Munch Nut Bar

munchbar.jpgI found this Munch Nut Bar in a local Kwik-E-Mart. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this candy bar before, although this Web site says it was introduced in 1970. How did I miss it for 35 years? Further research on the Web indicates that it is also (or is it formerly?) called Snickers Munch Bar, and that it has limited distribution. Anyway, the Munch bar was only OK, but not nearly as good as a Payday bar. It is essentially a bar of peanut brittle, albeit with a much lighter consistency and softer crunch than typical peanut brittle. It’s really not special in any way, and I would pass it up for most other candy bars on the rack.

Phoood rating: So-so

I like the Munch bar for no other reason than it travels well. You can expose it to full 100 degree heat and it's not gonna loose itself.

I like peanut brittle and a bar like this is quick, long-lasting energy.

I usually pick one up at the drug store for hiking trips and such. It's easy to share too, just snap off a corner. I also like Payday bars for the same reason.

For someone who does not like chocolate, I think the munch bar is awesome and I enjoy eating it.

Hey been munching on these since 1970. My wife never knew they existed until I purchased some about 5 yrs ago. She said the same thing, "where were these?? They're Great!"
Wish they were offered in King Size.

Well they havve changed the packaging, it used to be sorta lite brown-tan with peunuts on it.. in the mid 90's the military MRE's had them in as the energy/ candy bar. It was around much longer but did'nt sell too good, but after they started showing up in MRE's an entire new sales base was created and I guess it worked!! It's actually quite good, and much easier to eat than peanut brittle and it does last a long time in storage and any climate.

I love the Munch candy bar but cannot get it anywhere where I live. I am in the process of trying to order it online, can anyone help?

What retail stores sell this product on the east coast. Was able to find on the west coast around Utah.

Love Munch bars; they're like a bar-shaped popcorn-free version of Crunch-N-Munch. I live in Philly and I've come across them in Wawa (think an upgraded 7-Eleven) and Rite Aid, but not on a regular basis.

I just discovered Munch bars and think they are awesome and much healthier than most candy bars- for those who can't find them check out the website- munchnutbar.com - and put in your zip and they tell you who carries them.

This has always been my most favorite candy bar in the world.

I found this site because I was actually researching the web for this bar (sad, huh?). I bought a few boxes of bars about a month ago, and now for the life of me, I cannot remember where I found them!

I am retracing my steps and have been on this project for about a week.

Does anyone know of a major retail chain that sells them? I must have them all the time (or there could be trouble).

Tasty . Very Tasty.

Planters Peanut Co. had a similar product , which saw wider distribution. But the Munch bar has the caramelized sugar/butter effect down a little bit better.

If you are missing out on this bar, you are.....missing out.

ALL OF THE SUDDEN I CAN'T FIND THEM OR THE PLANTER'S PEANUT BAR ANY OF THE PLACES I WAS BUYING THEM AT BEFORE. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED? IT'S BEEN OVER A MONTH NOW AND I STILL CAN'T FIND THEM ANYWHERE. HELLLLLLP!!!!!!

This is my favorite candy bar of all time. It is a little bit like a Planters Peanut Bar but far better, it has a buttery taste that the Planters bar lacks. Unfortunately, availability is sporadic. Until recently it was carried at my KMART but then the store closed. The MUNCH bar website (yes, their own Website)indicated you could buy at our local Rite Aid but I found out they just stopped carrying them also. Check their Website, and if no luck there, use one of the online websites for candy ordering.

Wher can I order a munch Bar

Posted by: at July 25, 2006 10:41 AM

The Munch bar is 'pure nutural peanut goodness.'
It is comprised of only 6 ingredients-all natural. Tastes great and is a low glycemic snack!
These are readily in the Philly/South Jersey area.
They are available in 1.42oz bars. If you absolutely can't find this product and got to have it, I'll send you 2 dozen bars for $25 (shipping included).

I LOVE IT!

This is a great bar but VERY difficult to find. Most stores I've enquired of for it have said they've not only not got it but that they've never even heard of it.

For all the reasons the first poster said about this peanut brittle bar on 9/7/05, I agree. It is a wonderful bar to have.

Posted by: froodleface at October 20, 2007 1:54 PM

i do not think it is a good idea

Posted by: Jenna at December 6, 2007 4:38 PM

i can not stay here any more

Posted by: Jenna at December 7, 2007 10:01 PM

I work at a local Walgreens and we carry them! I just recently discovered them, fantastic candy bar, i love that it isn't sticky or too hard like most brittle type stuff.
