Reese's White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

reeses.jpgThere’s nothing wrong with Reese's White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, it’s just that they are not nearly as good as I thought they would be. Possibly because of the white chocolate’s mild flavor, the white chocolate does not complement the peanut butter like milk chocolate does. Perhaps Reese’s is trying to go upscale by offering a white chocolate variety of their Peanut Butter Cup. And perhaps I’m just not upscale enough to appreciate it. Oh well, I’ll just stick to the milk chocolate variety. I can’t give them a completely negative review, however. After all, they are chocolate-covered peanut butter, and covering peanut butter with chocolate is never a bad thing.

Come on, everyone knows that white chocolate is the red-headed stepchild of the chocolate family. Hell, it's not even chocolate. No one in his right mind would consider it a proper replacement for actual chocolate, especially in a peanut butter cup. There's nothing "upscale" about it -- Reese's is trying to dupe us with this inferior product and we don't have to stand for it!

My lil' sister and I (we're junk-food enablers) tried the W.C. Reese's Cups, and couldn't even finish one. Absolutely not worth anyone's time or taste buds. Now, if we're going to talk about "limited edition" mass-produced candy, the Dark Chocolate Kit-Kat is some good stuff. In fact, I really wish they'd replace the regular Kit-Kat with the dark...

Hmmm, I kind of like the white chocolate pb cups... I think I've eaten too many of the regular kind (in too short of time) that I've gotten tired of them and hence need something different.

These taste pretty much like the normal one's, but they are still good!

As a new contributor to this site, I find that Jim & I have different tastes, which is a good thing, right?!

I have loved white "chocolate" for years, and I always will. Do I think of it as a replacement or substitute for Milk or Dark Chocolate? No. Why? Because white chocolate is considered by many to not be a true chocolate, as it does not contain chocolate liquor. White chocolate is usually a mixture of sugar, cocoa butter, milk solids, lecithin and vanilla. It is call “chocolate” because of the cocoa butter.

And by the way, I love these AND the White Chocolate KitKats!

I really like white chocolate so I'd probably like these.

Since real chocolate gives me migraines, I'm really glad that there is this white chocolate alternative. However, I certainly agree that it's not nearly as good as real chocolate.

White Chocolate Reese's: best Reese's of all. Dark Chocolate Reese's is a close second.
