Archer Farms Chocolate Drizzle Indulgent Snack Mix

No-Image.jpgI have a slight obsession with Target and spend an embarrassing amount of money and time there. I especially enjoy doing my grocery shopping there, and I can mostly attribute that to the awesome Archer Farms "house" brand. I found myself having one of those 'Do I want salty or sweet?' conundrums on my most recent trip, so I began scouting the snack aisle. Immediately, the Archer Farms Chocolate Drizzle Indulgent Snack Mix jumped out. Peanuts, pretzels and an unidentified "crunchy treat" covered with chocolate. Yum! Totally took care of all the cravings at once. Unfortunately, I now have yet another reason to waste $3.00 at Target...

Phoood Hall of Fame: Doritos Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips

doritos-nc.jpgThere are a lot of different brands and flavors of tortilla chips, and the number just keeps increasing. Many of them are quite good, but none are as tasty as Doritos Nacho Cheese. There’s really not much that needs to be said about their flavor (I’m sure you are all familiar with it) except that it sets the standard by which all other flavored tortilla chips are measured. Occasionally, I’ll have another favorite flavor for a period of time. But sooner or later, I always come to the realization that Fiery Taco, Smokin’ Cool Salsa, or Blazin’ BBQ Nacho flavors, although they may be delicious, can never take the place of my faithful favorite, Doritos Nacho Cheese.

Jack in the Box Sirloin Cheese Burger

jibsirloin.jpgI was craving a hamburger yesterday, so I stopped by Jack in the Box to get one of their new Sirloin Cheese Burgers. I was skeptical if it would taste much different than their other hamburgers, many of which are very good. I was not disappointed and, in fact, I can say that the burger is the best tasting I’ve ever had at a fast food restaurant. The highlight is the hamburger patty – 100% sirloin beef that is well seasoned with salt and pepper (and maybe some other stuff). The seasoning is pretty heavy, which some people may not like. I think that the seasoning just adds to the delicious meat and makes the burger stand out from other bland, tasteless burgers often found at fast food places. I also liked the size of the patty: big. The bun is very good and you get your choice of American, Swiss, or cheddar cheese and red or grilled onions. It’s also available with bacon if you want to add even more fat and calories. Good job, Jack!

KFC Teriyaki Boneless Wings

kfcteriyakichicken.jpgI don't eat at KFC very often, but I probably should because the food is pretty good and reasonably priced. On a recent visit, I tried their new Teriyaki Boneless Wings. The chicken was perfect - moist, flavorful, and cooked just right. The teriyaki sauce covering the chicken, on the other hand, was not very good. It had a slightly odd flavor and did not complement the chicken well at all. In fact, it only distracted from the great flavor of the chicken. I also thought that there was far too much sauce. The chicken pieces were almost floating in sauce. Fortunately, the rest of the meal (mac and cheese, potato wedges, a biscuit, and a drink) was great and only cost $6.00. I think I'll start going to KFC more often, but won't be in a hurry to buy the Teriyaki Boneless Wings again.
