Lay’s are not one of my favorite potato chips, as I prefer a thicker chip. I usually try a new snack food once, however, so I bought a bag of new Lay’s Cheddar & Sour Cream flavor. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they are pretty good. They have a nice cheese flavor and the sour cream gives them a little tanginess. The flavor is very similar to Ruffles Cheddar & Sour Cream, which isn’t surprising as both Lay’s and Ruffles are Frito Lay products. These are definitely a potato chip that I would buy again. I recommend trying them, even if Lay’s aren’t your favorite potato chip.

I’m always on the look out for new pizza creations, so I was intrigued when I saw an advertisement for the new Domino’s Doublemelt pizza. The crust of the Doublemelt is made by sandwiching a cheese/herb blend between two very thin crusts. It works amazing well. The crusts are nicely crispy, and the cheese/herb blend adds an interesting flavor and a creamy texture. I definitely prefer the Doublemelt crust to any of the others offered by Domino’s. The rest of the pizza is, well, Domino’s – certainly nothing to get excited about. But the unique crust is reason enough to give this pizza a try.

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m not really into “natural” or “health” foods. But when I saw the new Natural Cheetos, I was intrigued. Is it possible to make healthy Cheetos? Apparently, it is. These white cheddar cheese puffs are made with organic corn meal and contain no hydrogenated oils, no trans fat, no preservatives, and no added color. The taste is excellent, with a mild but distinctive cheddar flavor and the familiar crunch you would expect from puffy Cheetos. They’re so good that you will likely forget that they have the word “natural” on the front of the bag. Frito Lay has made a natural snack that tastes great. Go get some today.

I found these new Doritos Black Pepper Jack (“Limited Time Only,” it says on the bag…) at the neighborhood Kwik-E-Mart late one night. The chips attempt to combine the tastes of black pepper and pepper jack cheese. Did the folks at Doritos ever think that maybe this was too much pepper flavor? Pepper dominates the chips, with the cheese flavor pretty much indiscernible. Unfortunately, the chips taste too much like several of the other Doritos flavors. I give Doritos credit for trying to come up with something new, but these chips left me a bit dissapointed.
