Taco Bell Chicken Flatbread Sandwich

tbfbsandwich.jpgWhen I first saw commercials for the new Chicken Flatbread Sandwich, I was interested as to what it would taste like. I guess the flatbread emphasis tricked me into thinking it was something unusual, but when it comes down to the actual ingredients and preparation, it is basically a chicken quesadilla. The item consists of the typical Taco Bell three-cheese-blend, pieces of grilled chicken, a chipotle-cheese-like sauce, all contained within a piece of square-cut flatbread. The chicken tastes lean, the cheese full of flavor, and the flatbread warm and soft, while the chipotle sauce brings a little something extra while pulling it all together. At the end of the day, I would describe this as a flatbread chicken quesadilla with a little Spanish flavor added through the chipotle sauce. It isnít the most filling item on the menu - after all, it is essentially a mini quesadilla - but this is one item you should definitely think about ordering, especially considering it is on the value menu.

I tried one of these a few days ago and I have to say the creamy chipotle cheese sauce on mine was a bit on the overtly salty side.

I saw the young man making it after I ordered, he applied the proper amount of man-suace from his organic squirter, and he squeezed too much of the white yellow sauce on the tortilla. It was so much, I could see the squirter throbbing in his hand a he vigorously finished applying the sauce on the flatbread.

I dunno, is it supposed to be this salty? He mentioned, "I hope you enjoy the new and improved sauce, I made it myself." to me as I picked up my order.

Don't think I'll order this item again, this is some secret sauce I can do without. Plus it made the food taste so slimy.

The Chicken FB Sandwich I recently tried at TacoBell/KFC in no way resembled the picture. What I had could have been called a chicken residue sandwich. The meat content while recognizable as white chicken breast was actually bits and pieces of chicken no whole slices. It was disappointing.

I tried it. I liked it. And you can't beat $.99 mini flatbread and a Sierra Mist Natural for a quick lunch!

I was kinda upset they stopped selling this in my area. I love flatbread foodstuffs and I thought the sauce was delicious.

Hoping they bring this back soon
