Burger King Flame Broiled Potato Snacks

bkchips.jpg
You won’t find these at Burger King, but you might find them in the supermarket. In my case, I discovered them at my local Rite Aid. Intrigued by the Burger King logo on the bag, I figured I’d give them a try. These snacks are round, bite-size chips that I immediately found to be very delicious. I don’t know of any other chip quite like them. They’re made with potatoes and corn, giving them a flavor and texture you would expect by mating a potato chip with a tortilla chip. They have a very nice crunch and are thick enough that they would undoubtedly be great for dipping. I really like the “flame broiled” flavor. It’s similar to barbeque, but not as sweet, and has a great smoky taste. Amazingly, they really do taste like they could have been cooked over an open flame. Burger King Flame Broiled snacks have quickly jumped to near the top of my “favorite snack” list.

Phoood rating: Outstanding!

Yum! My favorite combo when I was a kid (and now too sometimes) was to put a piece of corn chip and a smaller piece of potato chip in my mouth at the same time and eat them together. I always thought it must have been popular with other kids, too. The ideal product would be a potato chip ring (do they still have those somewhere?) interlocking with a corn chip ring.

I just tried the "Ketchup & Fries" flavor and they are really good also.

They look like they might be something like the old "Tato Skins" potato chips. I hope so.

My wife and I saw these in Big Lots and we also bought them because we were initially intrigued by the label. This is easily one of our all-time favorite snack foods and we have sampled quite a few. Very unique flavor and texture. Once the Big Lots supply dries up, I guess we'll be forced to seek out another local venue. We will seek them out at Rite Aid. Until then, I will cross my fingers.
