Sun Chips Cinnamon

sunchips-cinn.jpgNew on my local supermarket’s shelves are Sun Chips Cinnamon. I love Sun Chips (especially Original and Harvest Cheddar), and really hate to give a Sun Chip product a poor review, but someone has to tell it like it is: Sun Chips and cinnamon just don’t go well together. By the picture on the front of the bag, I thought that they might taste like a churro or Cinnamon Twists from Taco Bell. Instead, they have an uninteresting cinnamon flavor and not enough sweetness (even though sugar comes before cinnamon in the list of ingredients). The flavor of the actual chip itself is difficult to detect under all the cinnamon, so much so that I probably wouldn’t have guessed it was a Sun Chip if I didn’t already know. On a positive note, those looking for a relatively healthy, slightly sweet snack may appreciate the 18 grams of whole grains per serving.

Phoood rating: So-so

Although I am in the beer industry, I work with several vendors at Wal-Marts and grocery stores. The generous Sunchips salesman gave me a sample. They are a great mix of sweet, spicy, and corn chips. I am sorry you didn't like them but they are great for folks who don't like overly-sweet snacks.

Funny you should say they don't taste like the Taco Bell cinnamon twists, because that's the first thing I thought of when I tasted one.

Thumbs up for me

I love the cinnamon Sun Chips, but I have trouble finding them at Pick n Save. Where can I get them? I live in New Berlin, WI, southwest of Milwaukee.

My husband loves your Cinnamon Sun Chips. We have not been able to find them in two weeks. Did you take them off the market? We should do hope that you bring them back They are wonderful and we enjoy having them every day.

Amazon has a spot for them. You can be notified when they become available. It looks they will be sold in lots of 60 pkgs, 1.5 oz bags.

I loved these chips the two times I could find them so much, it was almost a problem. Can't find them to save my life now, which makes me irritated with Frito Lay.

Ok, good. I thought I was crazy. I bought a bag of these one day at a local gas station and have never been able to find them since. I see other people are having the same problem lol.

I live in Bettendorf, Iowa and love the cinnamon chips, but I can no longer find them on my grocery shelves. Where can I get them. I know several people that would very much like to buy them, but can't find a grocery store that carries them.
We have a Wal Mart, HyVee, Target, Snooks and many other stores, but as of now they do not carry them anymore.

I found them once at Big Lot's and have looked for them since. I'm afraid they don't make them anymore cuz the sunchips website doesn't have them. boo hoo

limited edition flavor was Cinnamon Crunch early in 2007 (the flavor is still produced as a seasonal item in the US, reappearing near the end of the year for the holidays
