It’s not often that I eat a candy bar that I don’t like at all. It happens very, very rarely – about as frequently as I shop at the health food store. The new 3 Musketeers Mint with Dark Chocolate is one candy bar that I’m sure I’ll never buy again. My first complaint is that it tastes nothing like a 3 Musketeers. Why even bother using the same name? Second, the mint flavor is just too strong. Think mint Listerine. Third, the dark chocolate was barely noticeable behind the industrial-strength mint flavor. I could go on, but I won’t bother. If you want mint and chocolate, eat a York Peppermint Patty or some Andes Chocolate Mints. Just stay away from this poor attempt at a candy bar.

Posted by Jim on December 2, 2007I have to say that this is one snack I don't think I'd even pick up. That just sounds horrendous. To be fair, I'm not a fan of dark chocolate to begin with, and mint could go either way, but as curious as I am to check out new treats, I don't think I'd be willing to gamble on this one... thanks for taking the bullet for all of us, Jim!
Posted by: Chad Everett at December 3, 2007 10:57 AMWell maybe i rally like mint, but i enjoyed the new candy bar, i thought the mint was lighter and fluffier than a york peppermint pattie, and the dark chocolate while not strong, did make the bar not to sweet, but just sweet enough. I bought 2.
Posted by: Kim at December 5, 2007 9:21 PMI really want to try one of these, I love mint candies, well, I love mint candies covered in chocolate. though I'm not a fan of dark chocolate. we will see.
Posted by: Rose at December 6, 2007 10:43 PMI would have to disagree on this one. I thought the candybar was very good, it reminded me of a junior mint but with the consistency of a musketeer.
Posted by: Phill Pusilo at December 10, 2007 1:01 PMI had one of these not too long ago, and I rather enjoyed it....not a fan of dark chocolate either, but this was OK, they are smaller than traditional 3 Musketeers, and they did remind me of a Peppermint Pattie....I still prefer the original 3 Musketeers, and yes, they should try a *milk* chocolate version of this
Posted by: David L. Packham at December 18, 2007 3:58 PMWhoa are you kidding me? This candy bar is really good! Geez, I guess when it comes to candy bars we really just don't mesh. Haha.
Posted by: Raachie at December 29, 2007 5:03 PMI like them also! I always buy them at Wal-Mart when I've been shopping a long time and am super hungry. I scarf them down as I walk out the door, usually splitting it with my room-mate. They're delicious. I think the whipped nature of it cuts down on the sharpness of the mint, but maybe my taste buds are weaker than yours.
Posted by: Laura at March 13, 2008 9:36 AMI love this candy bar and look for it whenever I'm shopping. It is usually at the bottom of the candy stands but I find it. I like the delicate taste of the mint, the light taste of the dark chocolate, and the fact that it is in two small bars. I can eat one now and the other one later. It's becoming my favorite.
Posted by: Connie Godby at March 24, 2010 9:18 AMHad one for the first time today. I'm a big fan of 3 Musketeers and York Peppermint Patties so I figured...
It worked. In fact I like the taste more than either of the former. It goes down perfectly with a good cup of coffee.
Only complaint... too small for the normal price. Wouldn't have gotten it had I not found the discount. Come on Mars, stop gouging your prices.
