Swedish Fish

swedish-fish.jpgOn my most recent visit to a local convenience store, I was in the mood for some non-chocolate candy, which I like to call “plastic.” I saw a bag of all red Swedish Fish, which I hadn't had in a while, so I thought I'd give them a try. From the first taste, I was amazed. This candy was everything I could ask for. Swedish Fish also come in a variety pack with multiple colors and flavors, but the pack of red Swedish Fish I enjoyed that day was perfect. To me, and I would extend that to most people in the world, the red fish are the most tasty in the variety pack, and to have a package consist of only red makes one wonder why other candies don't employ this strategy. For example, how fast would packs of all-red Skittles fly off the shelves? All I can say is that red Swedish Fish are amazing, and the only minor complaint I have is that eating too many too fast can cause the candy to build up on your teeth causing a minor annoyance. Don't underestimate the Swedish Fish red pack-they truly are delicious.

Phoood rating: Outstanding!

I agree that Swedish fish are very tasty, but I find that they always stick to my teeth, even if I only eat one of them. I also like Sour Patch Kids when I'm at the movies sometimes.

I have to disagree. Swedish fish have an okay flavor but I enjoy food that you don't have to work out to eat. Swedish fish make my jaw hurt and they get royally stuck in my teeth, so the flavor benefit is out weighed by the overly chewy texture.

Just my opinion, maybe I just have weak teeth and jaws...lol.

I have to admit, Swedish fish were a guilty pleasure for me when I was a child. When I was at the bulk food stores, I would reach in and sample them. I am sure they are just as delicious as they were in my youth. Go Sweden!

I love Swedish Fish, they are one of my faves. I think the fact that they stick to your mouth savors the flavor and makes them last longer :)

When they make bags of all-red Skittles, I just might shed a tear.
