Banana Twinkies
According the Twinkie entry on Wikipedia, the original Twinkie (invented in 1930) had a banana creme filling but was changed to vanilla creme during WWII. Now, Hostess has re-introduced the Banana Twinkie. It tastes like - you guessed it - a Twinkie with banana creme filling. I found it to have a nice banana flavor that is an improvement over the vanilla creme variety. It may be tempting to think of the Banana Twinkie as a "healthy" snack due to the banana flavor, but I wouldn't take it that far. Just enjoy it for what it is - tasty sponge cake with a sugar-creme filling.

I love twinkies! Unfortunately,I have to eat at least 3 at a time.I prefer the regular kind though,dont like artificial banana flavor too much.
i can't stand twinkies never did, tooo much filling. yuck!!!

Posted by: Jill at January 21, 2008 8:03 PMThe first time I tried the banana twinkies when they first came out a few years ago, and the filling tasted artificial. A couple of weeks ago I saw them in a convenience store and decided to try them again. They actually improved the taste and it tasted a lot better. I'd definitely have them again, but there are very few places that carry them.

Nothing beats some good artificial banana flavoring as it comes streaming into your mouth. Like this exerpt from my friend's essay in english says:
"I turned to my friend who was chattering away about her favorite monster energy drink, as the words flow like a river from her lips, the sweet taste of artificial banana comes streaming into my mouth."
Also, twinkies are amazing, but are even better frozen. I would love to know where to buy banana flavored twinkies, and will now be on the lookout for them, so thanks for the heads up. :)
