McDonald's McCafé Real Fruit Smoothies

mdsmoothie.jpgI am not much of a morning person but I do like breakfast food. Recently there have been some attempts by national fast food chains to supply more breakfast offerings. One of these new options is McDonald’s Real Fruit Smoothies. There are two flavors, Strawberry Banana and Wild Berry. At first I was skeptical. I assumed that the “real fruit” part of the smoothie would come with a disclaimer of “5% real fruit”. After some investigation it turns out that the smoothie is actually made with real ingredients for the most part, including real fruit and low fat yogurt. Real ingredients means real taste and both varieties taste fresh and bursting with real fruit flavor. I know a lot of people like coffee in the morning but for me picking up one of these Rea Fruit Smoothies is a good way to start your day.

It is nothing more than ground up ice mixed with a small amount of liquid.

They are disgusting! It gives me the creepy crawlies to think about how bad these are! Just eat some yogurt and save your money and calories!

I have never had one but, from what I have been told they are good. My boyfriend talked me into making my own smoothies at home. But this week-end I think I will go to McDonald's and get one.

Wow I went to McDonald's and I had a smoothie. It was good and instead of buying a small one I did it big. Now I had the strawberry banana and thats the same flavor that I make at home. But I will be buying one in the morning!

Sounds like the person who is for Mc Ds or works for them.

I disagree, the Sonic strawberry banana smoothie is the best of best, you can taste the flavor of the smoothie instead of just ice like McDonalds.

I loved 'em. I'm HUGE smoothie fan-- I make them all the time at home. I didn't like the strawberry-banana ones as much as I did the berry, but they're both better quality than most other non-homemade smoothies I've tried. I was rEaLlYy surprised by how..'real' they tasted. But if someone who doesn't like smoothies tries this, they're not going to like it. Simple. I give McD's an 'awesome' for this:)

The berry one would be good without the constant onslaught of seeds, which are really off putting.

The banana/strawberry was good at first but then I tasted a really bitter taste. It was almost like unripe bananas, which it probably was.

So much potential but I was kind of let down, and I adore smoothies and fruit.
