Taco Bell Beefy 5 Layer Burrito
I had such high hopes for this burrito. Taco Bell had been so successful in the past with incorporating a "hidden" layer of cheese in their products (the Cheesy Gordita Crunch is an all-time fave), but this was a real let down. I should have known from the ingredients listed that the burrito would be a disappointment: beans, beef, cheese, sour cream, and nacho cheese. There was nothing to give this burrito any kick or distinct flavor, instead the nacho cheese and sour cream combined to form an overpowering yet somehow bland mush that would be better suited at a senior center. At the excellent 89 cent price point, it's a shame this couldn't be a winner, as the burrito is quite substantial and would have been a valuable component in my under five dollar Taco Bell meals.

I totally agree with you. I had them cut the sour cream because I just don't want those calories, and I couldn't tell the difference between this burrito and the regular one. Except for the weight-it IS pretty big! Don't get this one, get something else.

The second bite was to confirm the first.
Personally I respect your thought, but I actually love their new 5 layer burrito but I order it without sour cream so I don't know If changes the "mush" taste at all

Time will tell. If they keep it, or if they keep it AND raise the price to $1.69, then we will all know how well it is selling.

I was actually reading your blog thinking " I know the beefy 5 layer has to be on here!" lol I am a vegetarian so often times my mom and I get this burrito and keep out the meat and it taste really good. Our other favorite was the 1/2 pound cheesy bean and rice burrito...but they took it off the 89 cents menu and moved the price to like $1.99...
