Skittles Chocolate Mix

skittleschocolate.jpgIt’s pretty hard to do chocolate wrong, but every once in a while I come across a product that messes up what you think would be pretty easy. Skittles Chocolate Mix is such a product. What works well with Skittles’ fruit flavors just doesn’t work for chocolate. The creaminess you expect in a chocolate candy is missing, probably because cocoa powder makes up less than 2% of the candy. Their chewy texture and excessive sweetness doesn’t go well with any of the five flavors – s’mores, vanilla, chocolate caramel, chocolate pudding, and brownie batter – each of which is very artificial tasting and not very appealing. If you want some chocolate candies, just buy some M&M’s. I don’t recommend wasting your money on Skittles Chocolate Mix.

Sadly, I have to agree. I love ALL things chocolate, but these Skittles just didn't work. :(

I couldn't agree more, unfortunately the lady at Wal-Mart gushed about these and I in turn wasted my money on this horrible monster of a snack food.

Gotta agree with you on these little "nuggets of nastiness." My wife brought some home from Wally world. She likes them! I thought they were going to be real chocolate!! Talk about an unpleasant surprise!

i actually thought they were good. i was not expecting chocolate but rather a chocolate flavored skittle. i love little flavored sugar pieces. kinda like a circus peanut, tastes nothing like a peanut but i'll eat um.

I am always trying new things, so I saw this at Ralph's and bought a pack. WHAT A WASTE! Yuk! There was five flavors I think, and all of them were awful. I still see them on the shelf, so I am waiting for them to disappear forever!

I agree. My friends and I got this stuff from the local 7-Eleven, and I was really surprised about the new chocolate flavor. But it turned out to be really gross, probably because I'm used to Skittles candies being slightly sour, not completely sweet.

I agree 100%. These were nasty!

I love these! I loved the lime starbursts! Around 1977 or 1978 was the last time I found them.
I have 'Kiwi Banana' in the Tropical Packs, yes that is green, and "Limon" in the Baja packs. And limited edition "Optimus Lime' in the Retro/ Baja packs.
I believe around 1980 was when lime was taken out.
My 6- year- old daughter Zeries discovered in the Baja packs there was a "retro" flavor included, and sure enough, it was lime!
Bring back the LIME Starbursts! Around 1978, it was replaced with cherry.
In Europe we have Lemon Lime, Blackcurrant, Orange & Strawberry. The skittles in Europe are different (strawberry, orange, & lemon in America), and apple & blackcurrant replacing lime & grape in America.
