From the same company that sells Caramel Creams, Goetze's Candy Co., Inc. I used to eat these a long time ago, and now I give them to my kid as a treat. Of course, this means I get to have one myself, occasionally! This narrow, long tube of candy had a white creamy center, surrounded on the outside by caramel. The tube was effortless to sink my teeth into, and the essence was even creamier than you would imagine. You can skin the wrapper as you eat, so you don't have to handle the outside of the candy. The savory taste was excellent. Recommended for a delightful snacking experience - I don’t think they are horribly fattening - also available in Chocolate and Strawberry Cream flavors.

I've been looking for the chocolate ones, but I haven't seen them anywhere. Where did you find yours?

Posted by: Sir Osiss at October 3, 2005 9:57 AMI think that, as far back as in the 30's (giving away my age!) one cud buy these from the candy counter. This was far from Alaska, like Western Oregon, Eastern Oregon, and around Seattle. Something like this was sold, too, in Alaska.... pjane

Posted by: mb at October 3, 2005 7:17 PMCow Tails is one of the best of the original candies on the market.
Posted by: Mella at October 4, 2005 12:17 PMI LOVE Cow Tails! They are what can be definitivly described as a Simple Pleasure. If you live in the D/FW area, there is a candy store down in the Fort Worth Stockyards (the name escapes me) that sells the chocolate ones.
Posted by: SilverSeraphim at October 8, 2005 10:13 PMI'm glad to see that Cow Tales are a favorite. Besides the Chocolate, Strawberry and "Original" flavors that are available, we just came out with Caramel Apple. It's the flavor of biting into a caramel dipped apple on Halloween. It will be out in stores in the early fall and also available for purchase on the website in the next few weeks. Definitely a flavor you need to try.
