Lay's Limón Tangy Lime Flavored Potato Chips

layslimon.jpgThis is another lime-flavored product that may not be available in all areas of the country. Lay’s Limon Potato Chips are only for a true lime fanatic, if there is such a person. The chip itself is your traditional Lay’s variety – thin and crispy. What makes this chip unique is the strong lime flavor. It is so strong that the tartness actually makes my lips pucker. Now, I like lime as much as the next guy, but this is just too much for my taste. The lime flavor is overpowering and the chip has only one dimension to it. A little subtlety in the flavor would really make the chip more enjoyable. Unless you are one of the aforementioned lime fanatics, I wouldn’t bother trying these chips.

I myself like the limon flavor. It tastes like margaritas to me. I wish North Carolina would sell this flavor.

I really wish this flavor of chips was always available, it seems to always sell out faster than its stocked... I demand that lays start to fully produce this flavor and keep them coming!!

These taste like salty green fruit loops sans the sugar.

Limons are to die for. I'm not much on potato chips, but I'm hooked on Limons. I'm in Texas and have been able to easily find them in most stores for the last year. However, in the last two weeks they are scarce. Walmart has run out, and I bought the last two bags on the shelf at the Albertsons in my neighborhood today. Hope Lays is not doing away with them.

I love these chips. They are the only ones that I buy and I cannot get them in Oregon. So whenI go to California, I buy a case and bring them home

i agree with all of you who say these chips are delicious. i recently moved to arkansas and have been here for 6 months and have yet to find them. i have looked everywhere. i even went to the lay's site and still didn't have any luck. if anyone knows where i can find them here in arkansas, i would be grateful. my sister in california sent me a bag. it costed her 15.00 just for the shipping. i don't have the heart to ask her to do it again. LAY'S LIMON' is the bomb.

These chips are amazing! I had them while I was in Mexico (Sabritas) and have been craving them ever since. Unfortunately I cannot find them at home, which is unfortunate. if you see these on the shelf you should definitely try them!

These chips are the best, but I'm sooooo disappointed that I can't find them in FLORIDA. Do anyone know where I can order them. PLEASE HELP, desperate.

Posted by: sheba at October 24, 2008 6:06 PM

I absolutely LOVE these and would love to be able to buy them in Florida too! Please...please let me know if there's anywhere I can get them, even online.

I too would really like Limon potato chips available more places. When we find a place that has the large bags, we purchase a case.

The small bags are available in many gas stations. Go to Frito Lay in the Internet. You then put in a zip code for an area and it will tell you if they are available within 50 miles, and where, the name of the place and the phone number. I found only one grocery store that carried them and it was Albertsons in CA. Iowa does not have any but the small bags are available all over in the Chicago area.

Maybe if anough of us contacted Frito Lay we could at least find how to get cases sent to our local Frito Lay distributer.

If one of you fing some clever way to get some of the large bags let me know at djbarnum@aol.com

for those who are looking lime flavored potato chips: I went on a hunt for them, from store to store even online... and when i was about to give up i found them! it ends up happening that frito lays has a mexican brand called "margarita" which has lime potato chips so chances are you will find them in any mexican store or taqueria! hopefully this will help you find them :)

I am a potato chip fanatic and Lay's Limon chips are without a doubt the most awesome chips I have ever tasted. I can't get them in Ind.,but when I go to Dallas I have my family meet me at the airport with a bag. From that point I eat a bag everyday, so I guess it's good that I can't get my hands on them at home.

These are the best potato chips I have ever eaten! I love the strong lime flavor! But, I have a hard time finding them, too. Hope they catch on and become as easy to find as bar-b-que chips!

I love these chips! I ate them all the time when I lived in San Diego. I now live in PA where they don't sell them. I'm thinking of asking an old Navy buddy to send me some.

I just bought a bag of these and I LOVE them! Wish I could remember where I bought them. I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Posted by: Julie at March 29, 2009 12:42 AM

I also fell in love with lime-flavored potato chips while in Mexico (Sabrita's). Since returning from vacation, I've been searching for a U.S. equivalent since! Goes well with a Corona (with lime, of course).

Please let me know if anyone can find these online. I live in Vancouver Canada & cannot find them anywhere. They are soooo good.

Posted by: Sharon at May 13, 2009 11:46 AM

You can get these at Winco in WA and OR. They're ok. Pretty strong though, like they're coated too much. Btw, I found a limon cook book the day before I bought these by chance. Weird.

Wow, with all the positive reviews, wonder why the negative one is posted first. i LOVE these chips. Yes, they are tart! That is the point. If you eat lemons, then you will love these chips. If you like tart - cherries for example, you will love these chips. They are great. Please start selling them everywhere. You guys that have them don't know how lucky you are. I am always scrounging them from friends who live in areas where they are distributed.

I was in Las Vegas for Mother's Day weekend when I discovered the lays limon tangy potato chips. I purchased the delicious chips from CVS right down the block from Circus Circus hotel. I have been on the hunt every since. I am so sorry that I didn't buy several bags. My entire family put lemons on everything. So needless to say I had to give my Mother the bag I brought and went back to CVS to purchase another bag. I even emailed fritolay.com. I live in West Virginia and not even Wal-Mart has them. Someone, anyone please tell me where I can possible purchase a case of the Lay's limon tangy potato chips. Thanking you in advance.

MY MOTHER BROUGHT ME A BAG OF THESE WONDERFUL LIMON CHIPS FROM COLORADO SINCE I CAN'T FIND THEM IN THE STATE I LIVE IN. I LOVE THEM AND THINK THEY SHOULD BE AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE.

Posted by: GAIL at October 25, 2009 9:19 AM

I admit the first two bites of the chips were very overwhelming with tart/salt flavor. I was getting ready to throw them out but then I kept eating them and liking them more and more. I was on vacation and now back in MI I can't find them...dang!!

Live in California, they are here on shelves like the original Lay's. I'm not a big fan of them but will try them again after reading these posts. Wish I could send them out to you all but wouldn't know where to start.

For those who love Lay's Limon chips, Ralph's grocery store (www.ralphs.com) usually has them and if not, they'll sometimes order them especially for you. You may have to buy the case, but for diehard fans, it's worth it. If you like spicy (yum!), try them with a hot sauce like Tapatio, Cholula or Valentina, not Tabasco (too much vinegar). If you're interested in other mexican flavored chips, www.mexgrocer.com and www.mymexicanpantry.com carry a good selection. Sabritas is the mexican version of Lay's... Adobadas (flavored with tomato, spices, and chili), Habanero Limon (like Limon chips but with a chili flavor), and Chile Piquin (flavored with spices and a smoky, spicier chili) are my favorites. Hope that helps.

I first tasted them in Dallas and tried to get them when I returned to NYC. No luck. Tried every which way to locate them to no avail. Called Lay's and they told me that it's a Hispanic favorite, and (this is true!) "there is no Hispanic market in the East." My son sent me a bag from California and I made it last for a week.

My wife loves these chips. We have found them in south Missouri area of Springfield, Joplin, Carthage, Republic, & Branson, Missouri in Walmart stores. When we go down there about 2 times a year we buy about 20 large bags to bring home. You can also order them online a 8.5 ounce bag for $3.99 at www.mexgrocer.com

I absolutely love these chips. I had them in Mexico when I bought them at a one of the neighborhood stores, of course they were Sabritas there. It is not too much lime flavor, it is the perfect amount!

I moved to Florida from NM in 2009. I have not been able to find the Lays Limon chips at all in this State. I have 2 friends that ship them to me. It is a shame that these chips arent all over. The people that I shared them with said that they would buy them if the came here. So, if there is anybody that reads this and can help change it. Please put these chips in Gainesville, Lake Butler, Lake City area. Thanks. I need my Limon fix and I need it here in Florida not in NM for now.

I moved to Maine from California and cannot get the Lays Limon chips here. I am so addicted to them. My friends from CA have sent me some, and I can now get them via Amazon.
