Snickers Almond Bar

snickers.jpg
I kind of feel cheated after eating the new Snickers Almond Bar. Both the name and the description on the wrapper (Almonds, Milk Chocolate, Caramel and Nougat) lead one to believe that almonds are a main ingredient. Unfortunately, the almonds were hardly noticeable. What I got was mostly nougat, with some caramel and milk chocolate, and a few puny almonds buried somewhere at the bottom. “Snickers Nougat Bar” would be a more honest name. It’s not a bad tasting candy bar. However, it does fall short of my expectations, especially considering that it wears the Snickers name.

I also fell for it, expecting a 'snickers' bar with Almonds instead of Peanuts, and was wrong. It's not bad as it is, but there should be more almonds.

Gee I've been looking all over for the mars bar. I just happened to go on a no carb diet, but was going to allow myself on guilty pleasure after weeks of sticking to my diet. I went to walgreen's and there was no mars bar! so I went back a week later figuring they would have replenished their candy shelves. Still no mars bar. now I find out that it has been replaced. I think there should be an announcemnt made to the public when something so drastic occurs. true the mars bar has been gone since 2002, but still I just knew this candy bar would be a staple in the candy hall of fame. That's was I get for not being faithful. Now I hang my head in shame. And I refuse to try the almond snickers for fear of getting my taste buds hurt. adieu.

I would love a Snickers nougat bar, as in peanut-free Snickers. But the nougat in this is very bland and Milky Way-ish. Snickers nougat has a taste. I guess they thought the almond taste (there was none) would make up for it. Sigh
